Millones de mujeres en todo el mundo salieron a las calles este jueves para gritar sus consignas a favor de la igualdad y el respeto. Las mujeres reivindican con huelgas, actos y manifestaciones una sociedad con igualdad de derechos.

Varios miles de personas, en su mayoría mujeres, se manifestaron hoy en varias ciudades de Italia para reivindicar igualdad de derechos en una jornada de protesta por el Día Internacional de la Mujer.

En Milán, capital económica de Italia, cientos de estudiantes se manifestaron por el centro de la ciudad, mientras que en Roma numerosas mujeres se concentraron en la zona próxima a la estación ferroviaria de Termini tras un cartel que aludía a la “huelga general de las mujeres”.

La manifestación milanesa estuvo encabezada por pancartas contra la discriminación de género e incluyó lemas feministas como “Mi cuerpo es una fiesta a la que no estás invitado, no importa lo que diga mi vestido”.

En España, más de cinco millones de trabajadores secundaron hoy los paros parciales de dos horas de la primera huelga feminista, según los sindicatos mayoritarios (CCOO y UGT), y decenas de miles de personas participaron en numerosas manifestaciones reivindicativas.

Las concentraciones más multitudinarias se celebraron en las ciudades de Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Sevilla y Valencia, con lemas como “Si nosotras paramos, se para el mundo”, “Vivas, libres, unidas por la igualdad” y mensajes contra la brecha salarial entre sexos y la violencia machista.

La huelga estuvo apoyada por los partidos de izquierda, mientras que el presidente del Gobierno español, el conservador Mariano Rajoy, se comprometió hoy a seguir trabajando en defensa de la igualdad real entre hombres y mujeres “sin regatear ni un solo esfuerzo”.

En Madrid, varios miles de personas -14.000 según los sindicatos- se congregaron en la céntrica Plaza de Cibeles, tanto mujeres como hombres, que portaban gorras, lazos, banderas, chalecos y adornos de color violeta, símbolo feminista.

También exhibieron carteles con lemas como “Trabajadoras somos todas”, “Salarios machistas, no”, “¡Justicia!”, “Igualdad”, “Ni locas, ni santas” o “Ni una menos, nosotras paramos el 8M”.

En la capital española, también un millar de periodistas se concentraron en la Plaza del Callao para denunciar la “injusticia laboral” que sufren las mujeres en los medios de comunicación.

En la región del País Vasco (norte), decenas de miles de mujeres tomaron las calles en una jornada de huelga “histórica”, según el movimiento feminista.

Vestidas de negro, en recuerdo a las víctimas de la violencia machista, y con lazos y brazaletes morados, mujeres jóvenes, mayores y niñas participaron centenares de actos

Las protestas se sintieron también con fuerza en Barcelona, capital de la región de Cataluña, con miles de manifestantes, algunos de ellos estudiantes.

Cientos de miles de trabajadores catalanes se sumaron a la primera huelga general feminista.

Gran parte lo hicieron durante dos horas de paro, aunque otros optaron por la huelga de jornada completa (convocada por sindicatos minoritarios), en especial en la enseñanza.

En la Comunidad Valenciana, miles de mujeres salieron a las calles para rechazar las desigualdades y reclamar derechos, con cortes de tráfico y un mayor seguimiento de la huelga en los servicios públicos regionales.

En los medios de comunicación, algunas cadenas de televisión modificaron la programación matinal habitual en directo por grabaciones, reseñó EFE.
